How is Stainless Steel used in Hydrogen Generators?

Most individuals use stainless steel 316L because stainless steel is cheaper than specialty metals such as gold and platinum. When hydrogen is produced, it is acidic to metal. Metals such as lead and aluminum are damaged very quickly, compromising the effectiveness of your hydrogen generator. Stainless steel is used in hydrogen generators in the form of tubing, wire, canisters, and stainless steel plates. The use of 316L stainless steel plates prolongs the life of your hydrogen generator and allows for less maintenance which is more cost effective for the consumer.
